The Merry Wives of Windsor (Terrace) @ Brooklyn Lyceum

I’m back in my role as “Abraham Slender” in this exciting production of The Merry Wives of Windsor (Terrace) with Brave New World Repertory Theatre.

“Popping up in Brooklyn after a short, but sweet, outdoor run actually in Windsor Terrace, the Brooklyn Lyceum welcomes a fresh take at a classic Shakespeare.  The Merry Wives of Windsor (Terrace), a rollicking and affectionate production set in the big hair 1980’s, with Falstaff re-imagined as a befuddled mob boss and Mistress Ford and Mistress Page as the-real-housewives-of-Brooklyn–with an eye for mischief and an ear for the traditional Brooklyn accent of the time.”

Remaining performances are 4/25, 4/27, 4/28, 5/1, 5/2, 5/5 and 5/6, 7:30pm.  http://www.brooklynlyceum.com/

The Marquise by Nöel Coward – staged reading April 1

I’ll be playing “Miguel” in a staged reading of Nöel Coward’s little-known and overlooked play The Marquise, directed by Kevin Hogan on April 1 (Brave New World Rep).  This is part of the Festival of Coward as developed by the  Nöel Coward Foundation in conjunction with The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts’ exhibit at Lincoln Center, “STAR QUALITY: The World of Nöel Coward.”   Our reading will be 4pm at the Brooklyn Lyceum, April 1.

Festival of New Works

I was in two play readings in the Festival of New Works at NYU Tisch on Saturday, both directed by George Ferencz.  All the Pretty Hipsters (Or, Who Will You Cuddle With When the World Ends?) by Eliza Goldstein was a fun time bouncing between playing a Harvard Law prepster, soldier on shore leave, Brooklyn hipster, and earnest farmboy.

Voice-over

Booked a voice-over for a comedic promo on a new website.  I have more voice-over work coming up next week in the ESL audiobook realm.

This weekend I’ll be helping to workshop a new play with Superhero Clubhouse, MARS (a play about mining). http://www.superheroclubhouse.org/     “Superhero Clubhouse creates original eco-plays via green, collaborative and experimental processes. Through theater and science we work to ignite discourse among communities, paving the way for a more sustainable theater and world.”

concert style reading at La MaMa – Chemistry of Love

I’ll be reading “Tyler” in Chemistry of Love, by Jill Campbell, at La MaMa E.T.C. this Monday, Jan 23rd at 7:30 pm.  Directed by George Ferencz.

“Chemistry of Love strips bare the process of making art, revealing the cause and effect of doing such upon one’s self and one’s peers.”   This is a substantial re-write of a play read last season about the Art community.

Booked commercial campaign for Alfani / Macy’s

I booked comedic commercial spots for Macy’s/Alfani, principal role, directed by Zack Resnicoff.  We had a great 2 days shooting on amazing locations in and around Manhattan. Class-act director, crew and cast.  I look forward to seeing how it all turned out.

The photo shoot, 3rd day, was with photographer Jake Chessum.  Jake had flown in redeye that morning from LA where he was shooting for the Golden Globe winners the night before.

The Merry Wives of Windsor (Terrace)

I had a great time playing “Slender” in this terrific, site-specific production with Brave New World Rep, directed by John Morgan in the Windsor Terrace area of Brooklyn.

“The Brooklyn accents and types on display here — the toss-the-ball-around civil servants, the dim rich kid (Matthew Luceno, who made us laugh)..”

“sharp production… this ensemble plays it like the sitcom it was meant to be..”      “Harold Bloom said that this comedy was the only play of Shakespeare’s that the Bard himself seemed to hold in contempt. We think Will would have liked this production..”      – Richard Grayson, DUMBO Books of Brooklyn

Uranus (a play about waste)

Here are a few photos from URANUS (a play about waste), in which I had the pleasure of playing “Boy 1″.  We really put a lot into this process workshopping the first half of the piece back in May, and then performing the whole thing at the wonderful Bushwick Starr in June as well as on Governor’s Island and a studio space in midtown as a couple Governor’s Island shows got rained out.  Written and directed by Jeremy Pickard, It felt great to work with my Superhero amigos..  you can see more about it here – http://www.superheroclubhouse.org/uranus.html
